# Ban Khlong Manao School Director Awarded Indian Government Scholarship to Join International Educational Leadership Programme

**Mr. Wichai Nonthakan**, Director of Ban Khlong Manao School, Tha Kwian Subdistrict, Watthana Nakhon District, Sakaeo Province, under the Sakaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 and the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), has been selected to participate in an international training programme funded by the Government of India through the **Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme**.

Mr. Nonthakan stated that he was selected to attend the **International Programme on Institutional Planning for Heads of Educational Institutes (IPHEI)**, scheduled to take place from **30 March to 10 April 2026** at the **National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA)** in New Delhi, India.

The programme brings together educational leaders from various countries to enhance their knowledge and competencies in strategic planning, educational administration, institutional development, and the international exchange of academic and professional experience.

Mr. Nonthakan is a school administrator recognised for his outstanding contributions to educational management innovation and the promotion of **Active Learning**. He has received several national-level awards and distinctions. He was also selected as a Thai teacher representative to participate in a **UNESCO teacher exchange programme in Japan** and has extensive experience in international education and academic activities.

Following the completion of the programme in India, Mr. Nonthakan plans to build upon the international educational leadership network established through the training by developing the **BKM–ITEC Global School Alliance**.

The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between schools in Thailand and partner countries, including India and other countries across Asia. Proposed activities include teacher, student, and cultural exchange programmes, as well as the establishment of formal partnerships through **Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)** between participating educational institutions.

The BKM–ITEC Global School Alliance is expected to enhance the capabilities of teachers and students, improve English communication skills, foster global perspectives, and strengthen the international profile of Thailand’s basic education system.

Through this initiative, Ban Khlong Manao School seeks to transform international training and professional networks into meaningful educational opportunities—connecting a small school in Sakaeo’s border region with classrooms and educational communities around the world.
