The ICCVTT or International Coordination Centre for Volunteer Teachers

ICCVTT is an international center for educational cooperation and cultural exchange. It is operated and driven under the leadership of Mr. Wichai Nontakan, the School Director of Ban Khlong Manao School, under the Sa Kaeo Primary Education Service Area Office 2 (SKPEO 2), and the initiator of the project since 2012. The program officially revived and relaunched activities in 2025 (B.E. 2568). It has been refocused to prioritize the "Exchange Model for Teachers and Expert Personnel" focusing on educational knowledge, culture, and Sustainable Development. Our ultimate goal is to elevate educational quality, youth development, and mutual understanding among teachers and educational personnel, while simultaneously fostering intercultural understanding, striving toward the creation of a sustainable culture of peace. ICCVTT is currently undergoing the development and application process to join the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet).

A Message from the Director
A Message from the Director

"To me, education is more than just knowledge; it is a profound bridge of the heart that connects individuals from diverse cultures to foster mutual understanding and acceptance. I hold a firm conviction that the opportunity Thai youth gain from learning alongside international volunteers is the key that opens new perspectives, sparks inspiration, and shapes them into Global Citizens imbued with the spirit of peace."

"Consequently, ICCVTT transcends the bounds of a mere language exchange program, striving instead to establish a genuine space for global friendship where all of us—our personnel, teachers, students, and volunteers—can continuously learn and grow together. I aspire for this center to be a strong starting point for cultivating Thai youth with broad vision and an open heart dedicated to the future of humanity."

Our History: A Foundation for Peace
Our History: A Foundation for Peace

The International Coordination Center for Volunteer Teachers, Thailand (ICCVTT) was founded in 2012 by Mr. Wichai Nontakan (Jason Nontakan), an idealistic teacher who initiated the mission to enhance English education for youth in the Sa Kaeo border region.

The program previously operated under the name “Free Volunteer Thailand,” achieving impressive results by hosting a total of 545 international volunteers from 43 countries across more than 24 network schools in the province. This success laid a strong foundation for friendship, intercultural understanding, and peace, driving our continuous commitment, in line with the key principles of the UNESCO organization.

A New Step Towards Sustainability under the Director's Leadership

Although ICCVTT activities were temporarily suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program has now been fully revived and comprehensively integrated within Ban Khlong Manao School under the leadership of Mr. Wichai Nontakan, the current School Director. He provides formal support in structure, budget, and personnel to ensure the center's long-term stability and continued benefit to the youth and community.

Current Vision: ICCVTT Short-Term Exchange Programme

ICCVTT aims to create a “One-Week Cultural Bridge” through our Short-Term Exchange Programme. This volunteer activity seamlessly blends English language learning, cultural exchange, and community development. We are committed to core UNESCO principles:

Global Citizenship Education: Developing English proficiency, strengthening global perspectives, and instilling responsibility toward the global community.

Intercultural Learning: Creating opportunities for students and volunteers to learn and grow together through shared living and working experiences.

Sustainability: Integrating volunteer missions into the social learning curriculum to generate long-lasting outcomes for the school and the community.

ICCVTT is currently in the process of applying for membership in the UNESCO ASPnet. We are fully prepared to leverage our valuable experience of over 10 years to continue our mission of global peace and friendship.
